LCD screens are very sensitive to static electricity, which may cause damage to components or even permanent damage. In order to protect the LCD screen, it is very necessary to take anti-static measures. The following are some common anti-static measures:
1. Grounding
Grounding is the most direct and effective anti-static measure. By discharging static electricity to the ground through wires, static electricity accumulation can be effectively prevented. Specific measures include:
- Workers wear grounded anti-static wristbands during production.
- Use grounded tools and equipment, such as anti-static low-voltage constant-temperature soldering irons and low-voltage DC electric screwdrivers.
- Ensure that the floors, walls, etc. in the production environment use anti-static materials and are effectively grounded.
2. Control environmental humidity
Dry air increases the risk of static electricity. Therefore, keeping the humidity in the workshop above 60% can effectively reduce static electricity. The environmental humidity can be increased by sprinkling water, spraying, etc.
3. Use anti-static materials
Using materials with dissipative static electricity instead of ordinary materials, such as anti-static floors, anti-static mats, etc., can effectively reduce the generation of static electricity.
4. Avoid direct contact
Try to avoid direct contact with the external leads of the LCD screen, the circuits on the circuit board and the metal frame with your hands. If you must touch, keep the human body and the module at the same potential to prevent static electricity transfer.
5. Correct cleaning method
Do not use a vacuum cleaner for cleaning, as it will generate strong static electricity. Use a microfiber cloth and cleaning fluid designed for electronic devices for cleaning.
6. Packaging and transportation
Be extra careful not to generate static electricity when taking out or putting back the packaging bag or moving the location. Do not change the packaging at will or discard the original packaging.
7. Labeling and differentiation
Device that has been damaged by static electricity should be labeled separately and not confused with normal equipment.
The above measures can effectively prevent the LCD screen from being damaged by static electricity, extend its service life and ensure its normal operation.
