LCD screen light leakage not only affects the visual experience, but may also indicate that there are certain problems with the screen. To avoid LCD screen light leakage, corresponding measures can be taken from multiple stages such as purchase, use, and maintenance:
Purchase stage
- Choose high-quality products: Well-known brands are usually more stringent in production processes and quality control, and the probability of light leakage in the LCD screens they produce is relatively low. For example, brands such as Apple and Samsung have high technical levels and quality standards in screen manufacturing. When purchasing, check the product reviews and reputation to find out whether other users have reported light leakage problems.
- On-site detection: When purchasing LCD devices, such as monitors and TVs, a simple light leakage test can be performed. Display the screen as a completely black screen and observe whether there is light leakage at the edge of the screen in a darker environment. If the light leakage is serious, you can request a replacement product.
Use stage
- Avoid excessive squeezing: LCD screens are relatively fragile. Excessive squeezing can easily lead to loose sealing between the screen and the back panel frame, thereby causing light leakage. During use, avoid pressing heavy objects on the screen, and be careful not to press the screen hard with your hands or other hard objects. For example, when carrying a laptop, avoid placing other objects on the screen to prevent squeezing.
- Control the ambient temperature: Too high or too low temperatures may damage the LCD screen and increase the risk of light leakage. Generally speaking, the optimal operating temperature of the LCD screen is between 20℃ - 30℃. In a high temperature environment, pay attention to heat dissipation of the device and avoid long-term exposure to the sun; in a low temperature environment, avoid the device from suddenly moving from a low temperature environment to a high temperature environment to avoid moisture inside the screen and affect the sealing of the screen.
- Correctly install the device: If you need to install LCD devices such as monitors and TVs by yourself, install them correctly according to the requirements of the manual. Make sure the screen is firmly installed to avoid deformation or loosening of the screen due to improper installation, which may cause light leakage. For example, when installing a monitor, make sure that the bracket is installed correctly and the screen is tightly connected to the bracket.
Maintenance stage
- Clean the screen regularly: Dust and stains may affect the sealing of the screen and increase the possibility of light leakage. Regularly wipe the screen gently with a clean, soft cloth to keep the screen clean. When cleaning, avoid using detergents containing alcohol or other chemicals to avoid damaging the coating on the screen surface.
- Avoid frequent screen switching: Frequent screen switching will cause changes in the temperature and pressure inside the screen, which may cause the screen and the back panel frame to be loosely sealed, thereby causing light leakage. Try to reduce the number of unnecessary screen switching to keep the screen in a stable working state.
- Replace aging parts in time: As the use time increases, some parts of the LCD screen may age, such as sealing strips, backlight sources, etc., which may cause light leakage. If light leakage is found on the screen and other reasons are excluded, it may be caused by aging of parts. Contact professional maintenance personnel in time to replace the aging parts.
