A touch screen is an electronic input device that the user can control through single or multi-touch gestures. Touchscreens enable users to interact directly with displayed content without using a mouse, touchpad, or any other intermediary device.

Some touchscreens can be controlled with your fingers; Others may need to use gloves with a specific type of coating, or use a special stylus.

The touch screen prototype was developed in 1977 by Danish electronics engineer Ben Stumpe. The development of multi-touch technology began in 1982, when the Input Research Group at the University of Toronto introduced the first multi-touch system for human input. It uses a glass panel with a camera behind it. Later, in 1985, a group at the University of Toronto, including Bill Buxton, developed a multi-touch tablet that used capacitance rather than bulky camera-based optical sensing systems.

Today, touchscreen devices have become the industry standard for most smartphones, tablets, and most laptops. Most homes will have at least one device with a touch screen, and our customers are no exception.

Due to widespread popularity, these screens sometimes crash. Many users don't take into account that the touch screen and the actual LCD screen are two separate pieces.

so:

The touch screen (aka digitizer) is a thin layer of transparent plastic that reads the touch signal and transmits it to the processing unit. This is the part you can touch without disassembling the device.

LCD screen is the panel inside the device used to display images. There is no way to see the LCD without taking the device apart first.

When only the touch screen is damaged, you should still be able to see what's happening on the screen, and the screen should still function normally.

When only the LCD screen is damaged, you can still use the touchscreen, but black specks or spider web-like cracks (or both) will appear on the panel.

When both the LCD and touch screen are damaged, you may still be able to use part of the touch screen and parts of the LCD may display images, but you will have significant difficulty using the device normally.
